When ToC first came out, I remember making a forum post saying that if I get nothing else, I really really really wanted Clemency. I’ve said before that I tend to prefer the stats on a staff over the slightly more healing you usually get from a main hand / off hand, but like the rest of you I had given in and was using a mace and chalice, because this was the only staff in ToC with spirit on it. Well… it finally dropped last night from our tribute chest and… I got it!

To say I’m excited or pleased would be a total understatement! If only it had a unique skin to better show off its leetness… Really though, I love this thing

Death of Anub’arak

Well we finally killed Anub’arak in 25 man Trial of the Grand Crusader. My wasn’t that a painful learning process! But I did feel quite good last night when he died I already posted about healing this fight, so I’m really just posting to say… Yes! We did it!

A Tribute to Insanity
Well I finally got a tribute to insanity after a couple of weeks with 48/49 attempts left! Actually I think you should get something related to insanity for having to run TOC so many damn times in a week! Hurry up Icecrown Citadel, I neeeeeeed a change! We also did it with only 1 death, although I’m told the 0 death achievement is only on 25 man so I guess I don’t feel soooo bad for letting that one guy die, he WAS a gnome after all

Observed, Again
In other news related to my personal characters, my little alt shaman killed Algalon on 25 last week, so she got her “The Astral Walker” title. Bit of an upgrade from “Champion of the Frozen Wastes” which was her only non-holiday title before. She’s been…. neglected, but she’s getting a lot more love now that I server transfered her

TRICK -or- TREAT!
My little cow is dressed up as a Draeni Priest for Halloween! And she finally hit 70. But you know what sucks? To choose a specialization in alchemy you still have to run Black Morass. Yeah… I ran it at 66, I really don’t want to have to find another group for that now when it was so hard the first time and the XP will be so lame compares to Northrend. I’m thinking we’ll just get a couple more levels and 2 man it, it might be faster than trying to find a group.

I just posted yesterday saying goodbye to my 8.5, and today I’m saying hello to my T9 with it’s rejuvenation crit bonus. I got another TOC crusader trophy, and thought to myself…. I have the badges to get the crappy (232) piece to round out the set, why not?!?! I mean, haven’t we all waited too long to buy stuff before and ended up with loads of badges that are virtually worthless? And you know, that iLevel 232 stuff was NOT an upgrade, it was a downgrade, but I’m hoping it will be worth it for the crits!

It was weird healing last night without my 8.5 bonus. I know that recount isn’t at all a good measure of a healer, but it is something I watch to compare me to myself. I noticed exactly what I expected to see… on the fights with less raid-damage (where I use to get that instant click in before someone topped them off) my numbers sucked, and on the fights with more raid damage where I pre-HoT more, the numbers were better than ever. I expect that this trend won’t change with my t9 bonus.

I’m hoping to get some more crit as I replace more of my trimmings. For those of you also interested in upping your crit, wowwikki says that we need 167 intellect or 46 critical strike rating to gain 1% crit chance. On a side note, a belt that matched would be nice… the one that matches the 8.5 looks a little stupid with the t9 corset!

Killed Onyxia too… incredibly disappointing. Just not a challenge at all. Ugh

Idol of Flaring Growth

I was browsing quite a few blogs today, and everyone was raving about the Idol of Flaring Growth. I had planned to get this eventually but it wasn’t my top priority. But everyone said “it procs loads and doesn’t have an internal cool down” so… I had to get it and see!

Well, I started by casting rejuvenation on myself and it in the 18 second period of rejuv, it proceed three times. I thought… it must be a fluke! I cast rejuvenation several more times, and it continued to proc as frequently. And that’s just one rejuv, on me. In a raid I usually have rejuv on about 10 different targets. Basically, unless they change it, this idol should read: 234 extra spell power, all the time!

I’d defiantly recommend getting this ASAP to all my tree friends

EDIT: Also, I thought I’d mention in case you didn’t know, you CAN switch idols in combat. So if you’re finding on a certain fight your mana is going a little quicker than you’d like, just keep Idol of Awakening on quick key and change mid-battle

By now everyone knows that (at least the lowest version of) T9 is available using strictly badges. You get two of these badges each day from doing the daily heroic, and three per boss in Trial of the Crusader. So… let’s just say you’re in a guild that’s not capable of doing ToC. And, even though the longer it’s out the easier it will be to find groups that can PUG it, let’s say you just have awful luck in PUGs. Doing only the daily heroic, how long will it be before you’re in full T9?

Helm — 50 Badges

Gloves — 30 Badges

Chest — 50 Badges

Legs — 50 Badges

Shoulders — 30 Badges

Grand Total: 210 badges

210 (badges) / 2 (badges per heroic daily) = 105

So to conclude in 105 days of doing the heroic daily, which takes less than an hour, even if you count the time wasted to “Additional instances can not be launched” will get you your full tier nine set. And this will happen faster for most people, who will at least get some badges in ToC.

Moving on… the first thing I think we’ll all notice is our four piece set bonus. Rejuvenation tics being able to crit! All that accidental crit that I’ve acquired suddenly will come in handy In all seriousness though, we all know the 8.5 set bonus is brilliant. This seems like a really great bonus too, but I don’t think I’ll go for 2 piece/2 piece. I think I’ll wait till I have four pieces of 9 before breaking my 8 bonus. I guess we’ll see… that’s just my initial thought.

So… for those of you who don’t know… there are three levels of T9 (the one above is the highest), which are interchangeable for the set bonus. The lowest level is bought using solely the Emblem’s of Triumph. You can get these from running the daily heroic, or running Trial of the Crusader 10 or 25 man. The next step up, the middle range of T9, requires an “Trophy of the Crusader” along with badges. You can get these trophies in 25 man regular, and they are not class specific. The highest level of gear is bought using tokens you get from the “Trial of the Grand Crusader”.

As of right now, you can’t do grand crusader on 10 or 25, because it requires one person to have completed crusader on normal to “unlock.” it. Since all the bosses aren’t available in normal yet… obviously nobody can unlock grand.
